Terms of use
Last updated October 11, 2026
The short version: you pay once and can use your plan for as long as you like. Your code is for you (Pamilya covers two people). Kaban helps you track and plan your own money; it isn't financial advice. Your data lives on your device, so keep backups.
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and the Kaban team ("we", "us"), the maker of Kaban. By buying or using Kaban, including the free sample household, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Kaban.
2. What you get
- Kaban is a money tracking and planning app that runs in your web browser and can be saved to your home screen.
- Each plan (Lite, Pro, Pamilya) unlocks the features listed on our pricing section at the time you buy.
- Kaban Lite is free until December 31, 2026 (Philippine time). After that, new users get a 14-day free trial, and anyone who started near the end of December still gets at least 14 days. When the free period ends, your data stays on your device and you can still view and export it; adding new entries needs a plan.
- Your plan is a one-time payment. There is no subscription and no automatic renewal.
- Updates to version 1 are free. If we release a new major version later, we'll say clearly what it costs, if anything, before you buy it.
- You can upgrade to a higher plan by paying the difference in price.
3. Your activation code
- Your code is a personal license for you to use Kaban on your own devices.
- Pamilya includes two codes: one for you and one for a partner or family member in your household.
- Please don't share, sell or publish your code. We may refuse support or refunds for codes that are shared publicly.
- If you lose your code, contact us with your order email and we'll resend it.
4. Not financial advice
Kaban shows calculations based on the numbers you enter, such as forecasts, budgets, loan costs and suggested splits. These are tools to help you think, not financial, investment, insurance, tax or legal advice. Rates shown in Borrow check are typical examples you can edit, and no option is paid or sponsored. Check details with the lender, insurer or agency, and decide for yourself, or with a licensed professional, before you act.
5. Your data and backups
- Your data is stored on your device, not with us (see our privacy policy).
- You're responsible for keeping backups. Clearing your browser data, uninstalling, or losing your device can delete your data, and we can't recover it.
- If you use Google Sheets sync, you're responsible for your Google account and who you share the sheet with.
6. Fair use
Don't copy, resell, rebrand or redistribute Kaban, try to get around its activation, or use it for anything unlawful.
7. Payments and refunds
Prices are in Philippine pesos unless the checkout shows another currency. Payments are processed by PayMongo under its own terms. Refunds follow our refund policy.
8. The app "as is"
We work hard to make Kaban accurate and reliable, and we'll fix problems you report. But we can't promise it will be error-free or work on every device and browser. To the extent the law allows, Kaban is provided "as is", and we aren't liable for indirect losses such as missed payments, penalties, interest, or decisions you make using Kaban. If we are found liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Kaban. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Philippine consumer law.
9. Changes and ending
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. Changes won't take away a plan you already paid for. You can stop using Kaban anytime by erasing it from your device.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. If there's a disagreement, let's try to settle it by talking first: email kaban.app.ph@gmail.com.
